trepidation.

Trepidation is walking into the Talmage Building for a stats class. I had no idea where I was going. I’m talking, total fish out of water here. (Luckily, there were neon sticky notes to show me where to go.)

You see, I had this idea Freshman year, that it would actually be quite exciting to take a class in every building on campus during my tenure at the university. I thought I had it made when one of my classes was held in the Wilk that year. But then I realized: what about math and science? Admittedly not my fortes.

For example, a couple of weeks ago, I had a research meeting with my team for Uganda. We planned to meet in the Benson Building. (I think I waited in line there once for Divine Comedy?) I walked confidently into the Benson Building, and was unable to find the elevator that my group member had told me to meet him at. I mean, I felt like it should have been there. I looked all around…. Only to see from the inside of the glass door “Widtsoe Building” Nice. I guess that’s quite an indication of my subject awareness, when I haven’t even stepped a foot into those buildings. So, I did what every other self respecting BYU student would do, and walked across campus to the Benson Building like I'd been there a million times.

I guess you could say I've developed an aversion to certain buildings on campus due to my lack of proficiency in certain subjects over the years. But mark my words- I'll defeat this beast!
