A few weeks ago, I got called out (rightly so) for titling a post "world: meet eric." and then not actually introducing you to eric (Lookin' at you, Rachel Moyes). So, here I am to right my wrongs. I know that this won't be a full on introduction to this wonderful, wonderful guy, but it's a start. I give you the first "him & her" of the soon to be mr. & mrs. tingey.
(and a little bit of just eric, since you already know enough about me).
(and a little bit of just eric, since you already know enough about me).
him: sherbet whatever
her: chocolate whatever
him: broncos
her: cougars
him: basketball shorts
her: yoga pants
him: neutrals
her: patterns
him: night owl
her: early bird
him: spatula
her: wooden spoon
both: can't wait for the best day ever (a.k.a. the day we wed).
Eric: He's a brilliant mechanical engineer, who's going to invent or design something incredible that changes the world someday (as in- he just finished a project for NASA. Yeah, I'm talking that kind of incredible). He knows all about the flags of the world and is multilingual (he's learning French for fun right now... no big deal). He's going to make a great husband, because he's always working to improve himself and challenging me to be better too. I've never met another person so committed to being so selfless. In that vein, I can't get over the way he puts up with my antics (like Kong Kone cravings in the middle of December and proposing to me with lanterns, because he knew that I loved Tangled). And let's not forget his sense of humor, which basically keeps me laughing all of the time.
You can tell by the smitten look on my face that he's got my heart. This obviously is just a really short list of facts that probably haven't told you a lot about him, but the fact is- it just can't fit in one post. We took a drive home yesterday (a six hour one, that is) and talked almost the entire time. We asked questions, told stories, made plans, laughed, and pretty sure there was one part that I even started getting choked up. We talked about how we're still learning more about each other, and how glad that we are to have eternity to keep learning, because the more I learn, the more I realize that I don't know.
So here's to the next 53 days until eternity.
love you more, mr. tingey.
